Bravo Bazaar. A stunning cover. Love the typography, the dress, the model (Gwyneth!), the white space. I can't wait to see the full issue. For more details about the redesign, visit WWD.

Pretty patterned dresses in flattering silhouettes. I think I like them better than the Jason Wu for Target. View all the looks at Karen Walker on Racked.

I'm torn. I adore color. But the absence of color is intriguing too. Check out these 2 looks from Kate Spade Pre Fall via Brad Goreski's blog. I can't decide which I like better.

"Marvelous Multi" is what Kate Spade is into this fall. We LOVE multicolor too! Pair your Kate Spade pocketbook with the Empilage necklace or the Eclore necklace.

Rachel Zoe, I die. Check out her office space on The Coveteur. So fab. So white.

09/23/11
Bold Gold is one of the trends for fall. Are you ready? Try a glittery shoe. Or dramatic eyeshadow. Or a distinctive necklace like the Soleil.

09/22/11
Eyelashes are spectacular these days. Such innovations. How fab are these "looped" eyelashes on the cover of ID Mag. Wow.

09/21/11
Fashion Week Front Row Drama. I love the advice in this article: how to act if you're sitting in the front row. Don't block others with your camera. Take off your sunglasses (this tip from Coco Rocha!). Use your indoor voice. Hide your oversized bags. Be part of the show. Don't be a goody bag seagull. Good tips!

Aunt Anna. Jealous.

07/13/11
Loving this tie dye look. Yes it's for your hair. I'm wondering if I can pull it off. My niece (who is 10 years old) dared me to do it. We'll see. What do you think? Thanks to Lauren Conrad and the Today Show for bringing it to our attention.

The Cut at NY Mag has the best wrap up that I've read about Princess Catherine's fashion on her trip to Canada and California. How great is she working the lace trend in this dress by Erdem.

07/07/11
Charming Canada one stylish outfit at a time. Princess Catherine looks lovely and fun-loving.

Who doesn't love a comeback? After the garish headpiece at the royal wedding, Beatrice hires a superb stylist and slims down. She looks comfortable and pretty. Now we can see her and not her awful outfits. Brava!

07/05/11
Kate Moss marries in a Galliano gown. Much scandal about Galliano. But this dress is spot on. It suits her perfectly. And who wouldn't look prettier with Swarovski sparkles all over the gown.

06/06/11
It's hard to believe that this is real life and not a movie.

05/25/11
Dresses with fringe...a 60s vibe done in modern colors.

I want to be friends with Fergie.
04/28/11
Royal fashion. Love this shade of blue on the Queen. And the red edges of the hat.

04/27/11
The Royal Wedding is just a day away. Yes...the Objets girls are getting up at 4am to watch it live. How can we pass up the fashion fun. The pagentry! The souvenirs! Mulberry has the cutest one: paper rings in Sapphire Blue. If I were in NYC, I'd hightail it over to Bleeker Street and get one. A-dor-a-ble.

04/20/11
People put Swarovski crystals on just about anything. I've seen toasters, bikes, refrigerators, wallpaper, faucets. And cars...lots of cars. And cell phones. Sometimes it's overkill. But I love it when crystals are done in an artful way. Or with a stage presence. Check out this artist/entrepreneur who affixed crystals to his bald head. Unbelievable! And the costume designer for Sister Act utilized Swarovski crystals to add visual punch to the nuns' habits in the musical. What a great way to liven up black and white costumes.

04/13/11
Rodarte uses Swarovski in brilliant ways. I love the detailing and the placement. In their fall collection, they used crystals to accent the lines of the body, creating visual structure...smart! Watch a short video on Stylecaster.

I'm craving a manicure. Question is: which of these 3 pretty colors?

J Crew lets us in on their sourcing. They created 3 mini-films about their Italian craftsmanship and inspiration. What a wonderful treat to see how they find a pattern, design a shoe, count the threads.

I love the crisp art direction of these photos in Capitol File Magazine. The crisp colored backgrounds accentuate the subject and create a happy feeling. The sharp lines of the tux contrast with the feathery skirt. Their sense of fun comes through. Playful and stylish.

............................
03/04/11
Can you guess who this is? She's nearly unrecognizable in this Allure photo. She's America's favorite friend and her classic style is unmistakable. But this styling seems forced and unnatural.

............................
03/03/11
I love when there's a "wow" moment at a fashion show. Runways are filled with pretty girls, but add a wacky hat (like Mizrahi's purse hats from a couple seasons ago) or neon teeth (for real!), then the audience is engaged and enthralled.

One reason to look forward to fall: duster coats. Talk about making an entrance. I think "long" always translates to a luxurious feel. Think about long hair, long sleeves, long trousers, long nails. Think long!

02/25/11
Kisses. Grandma's fur. Tucked hair. Hey lady. My So Called Life. What are these? Find out on Fashionista.com. They're right on the money! My personal fave is the hair tucked in coats. I adore this. It gives a chic pouf to the silhouette of your hair. If you have long hair, try it.

Stylish blogger Susan Tabak's shoe choice caught my eye. This fab Diego Dolcini shoe is featured on her blog in a section called "The Daily Shoe." There are 5 others too. I'm drawn to the Walter Steiger. All shoes available at Net-A-Porter.

Kate Spade + Brad Goreski = a perfect fit! Brad styled the latest collection. Nice pop of red for fall.

02/17/11
This is a great look. It works for all shapes and sizes and ages. The shimmer is flattering for everyone. The long sleeves cover the dreaded upper arms. And long sleeves are elongating. They lengthen your look. Most women have good legs. Especially in high heels. The only thing I'd do is look for a longer sheath if you're over 35. I just think showing your mid-thigh is a 20-something type of thing. Stylist Lindsay Albanese gives more guidance here.

02/10/11
Killer shoes. Literally.

............................
I love the excess of this! Can't you just hear them saying "more glitter?" It would be a funky look to try out some time. Though, I'm not sure I could leave the house that way. Sometimes if I line my eyes too much, I feel over done. Yowza. If I try it, I'll post a picture.

02/09/11
More spring news! Check out this video from Daily Candy. They talked to several designers (Isaac, the Fortunato girls, etc.) about what trends are on their radar. Long is the new short. Keep your eye out for long flowy skirts (down to the floor) to wear with mini tops. Clogs...sandals with wide straps and chunky heels. Head-to-toe whites (I can't wait to try this one). Color mixing and all those fresh pale colors. Overall: not black. Patterns patterns patterns: geometric, bold, animal. All this sound wearable and fun. Bring it on!

Spring is around the corner. Are you ready for honeysuckle? Honeysuckle pink is the top color for Spring 2011. Pantone compiles a list of color trends every year. They make their predictions after talking to manufacturers, designers, style experts and consumers. They all say we're ready for a more optimistic color palette. Honeysuckle pink will do the trick. It's not hot pink. It's more subtle. And fresh. I imagine pairing it with a grey, gold, navy and of course white. It would be darling in a twirly spring dress. Or a flouncy lightweight scarf. Or of course in jewelry. Stay tuned for classic Objets pieces in this new color.

Superbowl fever? How does that relate to jewelry and fashion? How about checking out all the Superbowl ring designs. Here's a pictorial of all of them. My faves...the Bears have that great C encrusted in diamonds. The Broncos have a streak of topaz (I think) with their diamonds.

Perms are coming back. They're calling them "body waves." They result in undone or beachy hair. I want that look. I used to get perms. I liked it. I have stick straight hair. They worked! I might have to investigate...hmm.

I don't usually post about jewelry. But this agate and rope jewelry by Brook&Lyn is striking. And wearable. I love the look...it's such a focus point. And the rope is interesting but not too distracting.

I love faux fur. It looks amazing. I'm shopping for a faux-fur-trimmed something. Not sure what yet, but I'll know it when I see it. I also love Rachel Zoe. (I die!) But I think her faux fur coat for QVC looks a little muppet-like. Right?

FNO 2010 was another success. I love seeing the snapshots and reading the coverage. I'm also happy I live in Chicago and not in NY. If I were in NY, I'd be compelled to attend, fighting the crowds. It looks like fun, but it also looks crazy. Talk about crazy...Tinsley Mortimer's outfit, braid, and pooch. Crazy. Not in a good way.

Mad Men is seriously influencing the fashion world. It heralded the return to ladylike looks. Each character on the show is specifically styled...right down to the details. I just watched Fashion's Night Out...The Show on live stream. It was truly amazing. The setting (Lincoln Center) was spectacular. The seating surrounded the fountain in concentric circles. The runway did spirals through the seats. The top supermodels alighted from a FNO double decker bus and wore FNO tees with ball gown skirts. More than 170 models showcased 470 looks styled by the Vogue stylists. Anna Wintour and her team pulled off an incredible show. The themes of the show were summed up by ALT "It's a return to polish." Well said. Trends for fall were camel, military, global/nomad, rock chic, flattering fifties, modern beehives, tartan, side plaits, and high/low. See all the looks on Vogue.com. Here are a few outtakes.

I watched this behind the scenes video a few days ago. It's from Christina Hendricks' new campaign for London Fog. She's stunning. And styled just right. Her curves are gorgeous in the clothing. But then, she's in this drab dress at the Emmy's. I like the video much better.

08/30/10
Were you inspired by the Emmy fashions? I am a little obsessed with the rich, metallic blues. That Tom Ford jacket worn by Ryan Murphy did it for me. Spectacular. I'm now on the hunt for metallic blue accesories! Jayma Mays and Lea Michele also did the navy trend well.

Several of my friends and countless celeb stylists are loving Céline these days. I agree. Browsing their website this morning, I found this stunning boot. Half caramel and half black...literally. Amazing. It's like a black and white cookie...jarring visually and truly statement-making.

Wow. Just wow. A coloring book from Hermes. I am strangely drawn to this. When was the last time you colored? This would be a fab treat. I just wish it cost $30 instead of $130. $130 is just too rich for my blood. I'll color with my niece. But I'll dream of Hermes.

Sheer black is one of the fall trends that we'll be seeing all over. But it's a tricky one to pull off. The point is to be sheer only in places that should be seen. It's a hint of sheer, not sheer all over. Selma Blair does it perfectly.

My faves: Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Javier Bardem, Alber Elbaz, Christy Turlington, Andre Balazs, Michelle Obama, Cindi Leive, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman, Stacey Bendet, Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List 2010. Funniest choice: Helena Bonham Carter. My friend Karen lived in London for a few years and worked out at the same health club. Said Helena wore the wackiest ensembles every day. Hilarious.

The couture shows are happening in Paris. I love to view them for inspiration. I was struck by Christian Dior. The colors pop and seem really fresh. The textures are simply amazing. There are feathers, puff balls, poufs, and much more. Yet the textures don't overwhelm. Even the hair was spectacular...vertical curly Qs. Bravo Orlando Pita!
